Another month dwindles, it will now only live in our memories. Memories of kayaking, weddings, birthdays. July holds more of the same, but it will all be different. How? Every day we partake in a routine similar to the day before yet we face new challenges, joys, sorrows. I take the same drive to work every morning, but always arrive at a different time, follow a different vehicle, buy a different beverage. I always say “Good morning” to my coworkers, but always in a different tone, with a different expression, to a different but similar response. What controls this? Is it me? Is it the rotation of the planet and the alignment of the stars? Supernatural elements? How can a million different little things build something so seemingly similar to the previous? How can things be mundane, monotonous and new? Exciting, enjoyable and repetitive? How can one watch the same TV, play the same game, jog the same path and still enjoy it? How can someone wake to a different bird song, a different smile, a different chance and ignore it? Why are there always more questions than answers?

This Week
We will have a sales team at the Sierra Bible Church in Sonora, CA today and tomorrow selling UV Skinz. A portion of each sale will go towards a local charity that benefits the children of Tuolumne County. Come by and show your support.

Summer
Summer is officially here and it doesn’t seem any hotter or more summer-like that it already has been. It has been in the 90s here in the California foothills for weeks now. Summer vacation is a thing of the past and being that I work for a swim wear company I constantly think of taking off to the lakes and beaches that surround me, but cannot due to the high volume of sales that must be quelled. I guess that there is only 94 more days of summer before things start to “cool off”…ha ha ha…*sigh* To all of you lucky people who still get to experience summer break let me know about all of the fun you’re having while I slave over the computer and get all of your UV protective swim wear out to you!

Sunburn Abuse
Here is a particularly off-putting story from the 12th about a man being charged with abusing his child by over exposure to the sun! Read on for a synopsis or read the whole story here.
“Bobby J. Jones, 27, is charged with criminal abuse for allegedly allowing his son to sustain a severe sunburn. The boy received second-degree burns…
Police say Jones’ 2-year-old son was outside for an hour and a half Sunday with no apparent sun protection.
The child had golf ball-sized blisters on his shoulders when his mother came to retrieve him from Jones’ home. He was also burned on his face, chest, back and stomach, police say.
The mother took the child to the police department, then to Pattie A. Clay Hospital in Richmond, where the boy was treated and discharged.”
