Melanoma Rates on the Rise in U.S.

THURSDAY, Jan. 8 (HealthDay News) — New cases of the deadly skin cancer melanoma are increasing among men and women in the United States, particularly among older men, researchers report.

Whether the increase in melanoma signals an epidemic is a matter of debate. However, the rate is increasing among all Americans and cannot be due to better screening alone, the researchers contend.

    Great post. Thanks for educating people about melanoma. I just had a spot removed and the key was early detection and treatment. Got a clean path report on the removed area and had clear margins. Good job spreading awareness!!!

Skin Sense–Find it at UV Skinz

The sun safety book, Skin Sense, is a publication focused on children’s awareness and prevention of skin cancer and sun damage. The book has been written for children ages two to eight and is hoped to reach young children across the nation.
