A Sweet Way to Protect your Kids!

April 10, 2009

Eyes Cream Shades!

dsc084652

(Journey is wearing Glamour Girl, Vanilla flavored!)

Eyes Cream Shades was created by Faith Smith who founded her company on  a common sense belief that children need to be protected with good quality sunglasses and not “toys” or novelty items on their eyes.

All of the sunglasses (prescription or non-prescription) block up to 100% of harmful UVA and UVB radiation from the sun. The lenses are made of a tough polycarbonate that are virtually shatter-proof. Eyes Cream Shades are especially designed for your kids ages 6 months and up!

Children need good eye protection too!

UV rays can also contribute to eye health problems and most eye damage occurs before the age of 8. Just like skin cancer prevention needs to start at an early age, it is never too early to protect your children’s eyes from the same UV rays that can cause a sunburn.

Don’t you just love the name?

These cool sunglasses come in some very “Delicious Flavors” that are appealing to kids;  Cotton Candy, Mint Ice, Strawberry Ice, Peppermint Stick, and much more!

dsc08507

(Faith is wearing Fashion Frenzy, Strawberry Ice flavor and an Olivia style UV Swim Shirt)

I loved the sunglasses the minute I saw them and I have to say that Journey and Faith have started to become more accustomed to wearing them. They have never worn sunglasses except silly dress-up ones so it has been all about consistency, which is a good reason to start good eye protection at an early age.

Now I give them a choice; they can wear a hat or their sunglasses. Most of the time they choose the sunglasses. Faith will put hers on and say she is ready for the beach!

We were ready for the beach and I felt really confident that both of my girl’s were fully protected and comfortable. Even running and jumping through the waves the glasses stayed put and after a while I don’t think they realized they were wearing them.

dsc085151 The best thing about Eyes Cream Shades is that for the quality of product and durability they are a very affordable investment in your child’s well-being and eye health.

Kids need regular eye exams. They need to eat their vegetables and wear sunblock. And they need Eyes Cream Shades!

Now you know I wouldn’t let you leave without a chance to WIN a pair of Eyes Cream Shades for the special child in your life!

Hi Kalisha! I’m always very happy to read about others spreading the word about how important sun protection is for kids eyes. I’m an eye doctor and a mother too (my daughter looks around the same age as Journey) and I feel although most parents are very conscious about sun damage to the skin, the eyes are quite often overlooked. Practically any eye doctor will tell you they always prescribe polycarbonate for kids, and sunglasses should be no different. Kudos to Eyes Cream Shades for making this wonderful product and thanks for raising awareness on such an important children’s health issue!

What are UV Skinz?

The company was established after Rhonda Sparks, the Founder and President, lost her husband to skin cancer when he was just 32 years old in 2001. This sparked Rhonda's passion to raise awareness and educate others about sun protection, but never losing sight of how valuable it is to PLAY and HAVE FUN outdoors!
UV Skinz sun protective swim shirts are stylish and carry a UPF rating of 50+, which blocks out over 98% of the sun’s harmful rays, protecting delicate skin from damaging sunburns.
Everyone should feel free in the sun wearing UV Skinz. Its UV protection never washes off and it won't leave you with sunblock all over your hands as your naked toddler runs down the hall!
As a Mom and loyal UV Skinz customer, I love to hear your thoughts, comments, suggestions and questions! Just email me at kalisha(at)uvskinz(dot)com
