There are only three days left until May 1st, which marks the start of National Skin Cancer Awareness Month and the UV Skinz I Saved A Baby’s Skin Campaign! Wow! That is a mouthful!! Talking about and spreading awareness about skin cancer should be just that. Most people are naive to the fact that skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. Unlike popular belief only 23 percent of a person’s lifetime sun exposure occurs by age 18, not 80 percent. A statistic that can’t be avoided is that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer during the course of a lifetime. That means that if it isn’t you then someone in your circle of friends, family, or church group will be diagnosed with skin cancer. That is why raising awareness and educating the public about this deadly cancer is so important.
