What is Melanoma Monday?

“Melanoma Monday” is the kick-off of May Melanoma Month with special activities nationally and locally.
Also known as National Skin Self-Examination Day. People are encouraged to examine their skin for skin cancer.

Melanoma affects more than 2 million Americans each year, but it is one of the easiet to cure if detected in the early stages. The Skin Cancer Foundation has some great tips and diagrams to help you with your own self-examination.

You can search by city and state for locations that offer free skin cancer screenings at the American Academy of Dermatology website!
